Major powerplant planned for our area: We don't get the power, just the risks
Montgomery Energy of Magnolia, Texas wants to build the 13th largest powerplant in the state along the Billerica/Chelmsford border. This 348 Megawatt power plant and its dangerous chemical and fuel supply will reside on the banks of the Concord river.
Who is the power for? Not us! Massachusetts has a stable, or declining population and is working hard to make progress on energy conservation. Fuel technology focuses on making fuel cleaner and more efficient and with fewer people in our state, Massachusetts is poised to finally make progress. But not if this power plants gets built. This plant is designed to use our land to supply more energy to Connecticut!
Why should we sacrifice our environment, safety and quality of life so that Connecticut can overpopulate, overdevelop and over-consume?
